Analysis - Tenure and Retention

System LocationAnalytics / Analysis / Tenure and Retention

The Tenure and Retention page allows for determination of how many members are being retained within program based on tenure calculation. Tenure is determined by the amount of time between either their enrollment date or earliest qualifying transaction type (whichever is earliest), and their last recorded qualified transaction. Any member who has not recorded the specified type of transaction within the lapse parameter specified is considered a "lost" member.

Parameters are as follows:

  • Program - The program for which statistics will be provided.
  • Base Tenure On - Specify which transaction types you want to run the analysis for. Whether or not a transaction type is configured to count toward a member being "active" and/or as a "trip", is defined in the transaction type setup.
  • Days Defining Lapse - The amount entered here will determine who is considered "lost".  The analysis will look back X days to see if a customer has lapsed.
  • Number of Months to View - Defines the number of months that will be displayed in the final statistics.  If a time period is specified that exceeds the span of time that the program has existed, the tenure will eventually turn into a straight horizontal line.  This is correct, as there are no tenures that span this length of time, and it is assumed by default that the current rate of retention will continue into the future.  No future projections are performed based on historical data.
  • View Results As - Specify the statistical view (data grid vs. chart)
