Event

System LocationCalendar / Events

An event is a user-defined object, setup by location, that determines the start- and end-time of an occasion.  Within this time interval, a user can define the issuance of an event admission if the person registers a qualifying interaction and/or configure an event-related promotion.  Unless otherwise noted, event-related promotions cannot be directly linked to a specific event, therefore, it is important to disable the associated promotion(s) after the event, so it does not interfere with future events.

Events can be added to the system within the "Event List" page or the "Event Calendar" page.  Each page is identical in functionality, but will display the previously setup events in a different format.

Navigate to the Event Page

Two pages have the ability to control event management.  To display existing events in a calendar view, navigate to the "Event Calendar" page.  Alternately, events can also be managed from the "Event List" page.

Managing an Event

Each business unit and location combination has its own set of events.  Before managing events, select the appropriate business unit and location in the dropdowns at the top of the page.

When the appropriate calendar or list is displayed, click the event link (in calendar view) or click "Edit" within the grid (in list view) to begin management of an existing event.  Alternately to create a new event, click the "Add Event"  link at the top of the page.  Unused events can also be deleted from the edit page.

Event configuration parameters include:

  • Event - The formal event name.
  • Event Start and Finish - The start date/time and end date/time for the particular event.  The input is expected in the current user timezone.
  • Actual Event Start Time for Portal - If there are any customer web portal-dependent items, this particular start time will queue the beginning of the event.
  • Event Attendance - Physical event attendance (loyalty + non-loyalty).  Usually input after the actual event for future comparisons.
  • Event Options
    • Allow Ticket Barcode Entry - Upon swiping at the kiosk during an event, members will be prompted to scan their ticket.
    • Require Ticket Barcode on Application Manual Event Transaction Entry - If checked, any attempts to manually award an event admission transaction via the SBLP application will require ticket input.
  • Transaction Settings - Declares the transaction point formula, profit formula, and issue rules for the event-based transaction types.
  • Descriptors - Check the optional event descriptors that this event fulfills.

After saving, the parameters will be stored and active (depending on the start and finish dates).

Disabling an Event Prematurely

To disable an event prematurely, edit the event and set the finish date/time that has already passed.
