System Location: Calendar / Transaction Defaults
Transaction Defaults declare the ongoing default point formulas, profit formulas, and issue rules for transaction types. Each location and parimutuel track (parimutuel only) has its own individual default page. When changed, these defaults are propagated to the appropriate transaction calendar for dates going forward that have not been manually setup previously through the calendar.
It is recommended to propagate any changes made to the defaults to the "master level" within the transaction type and/or parimutuel track.
There is a default page for "location/day pair" transaction types, event-based transactions types, and for parimutuel-specific transactions types. Each default page works in a very similar fashion.
Default Management
As previously stated, each location/track combination has it's own defaulting parameters.
Navigate to the Appropriate Default Page
For transaction types that are configured on the location/day level, navigate to the "Location Defaults" page. For event-based transaction types, the "Event Location Defaults" page. For parimutuel transaction types, the "Parimutuel Location Defaults" page.
Locate the Item Default
First, configure the appropriate parameters above the page grid. Once the appropriate item is found, click the "Edit" link. This will load that item default's management page.
Configuring the Item's Default
Each applicable transaction type and/or parimutuel device type has it's own settings for the defaulting combination in question. The changes made will only affect calendar days in the future, that have not been manually set or utilized.
