How To - Combine Member Accounts

System Location: Member-Services / Clienteling Services

Combining member accounts completely merges two member accounts into one. This action is used to resolve duplicate account situations and is irreversible. Before proceeding, please make sure that both accounts to be combined have the same owner.

Locate the First Member

On the Clienteling Services page, search for the first member of the combine. It is recommended to select the "less complete" account first, as supporting data (such as club assignments and custom field values) will only be kept for the second account as it is considered the higher priority.

1. Enter the search information in the "Search For" box, along with the appropriate drop-down parameter.
2. Hit the Enter key or click the "Search" button.
3. If multiple results are presented, click the "Select" button next to the appropriate result.

Enter the Combine Page

1. Hover over the "Tools" sub-menu in the left frame, then click the "Combine Into..." link.

Locate the Second Member

While on the combine page, locate the second member (the "more complete" account).

1. Enter the search information in the "Search For" box, along with the appropriate drop-down parameter.
2. Hit the Enter key or click the "Search" button.
3. Click the "Select" button next to the appropriate result.

Complete the Combine Process

1. Select which account demographics to store in the final combined account.
2. Review all information, then click the "Click to Combine" button.

 

The final account will have appropriate information and history from both accounts, more importantly, all involved account Ids. The Primary Account Id is always the most recent, active Account Id of the highest rank. Some information can't be retained.

Management of these Ids will be possible via the "Id Management" link within the page.
